Unexpectedly, my little chat with the carpenter went really smooth and the broth was a marvel indeed. Wilkan, because that was the name of my soon-to-be-partner, decided even to join me in the tavern and share a beer with me. I imagined that it was me who was going to pay for all of it, but it didn’t matter. Wilkan seemed smart and a hard-working lad who had broad knowledge. Not only just about the woods and timber. I enjoyed the time we passed together so when we reached the tavern I bought us the tankards. The smelly white foam on the top of them looked delicious!

A peaceful and nice day that had already been coming to its end suddenly changed. In one moment I heard some cries outside the tavern and the people at the tables nearby jumped to their feet. Chaos and uproar filled the chamber when all the customers tried to approach the doors.
I told you! – somebody shouted outside the inn. – I told you they are real! See for yourself!
Me and Wilkan got outside where many more peasants had already stared into the darkening sky. Puzzlement, anxiety and astonishment were altogether expressed on their faces as if they just had seen a ghost, but a beautiful one.

We could better see all of it. Each summit had burst with jadeite colours – even barely visible – the Mother of Mountains, Babia Mountain that was told to be an ancient abode of the witches.
